This little Cutleaf Evening Primrose blossom is almost lost in the tall spring grass here in Colorado where it is a native wild flower.
Common name: Cutleaf evening primrose, crownleaf evening primrose
Family: Evening Primrose (Onagraceae)
Scientific name: Oenothera coronopifolia
Main flower color: White
Range: The Four Corners states, plus south Wyoming and parts of the Great Plains
Height: Up to 12 inches
Habitat: Dry hillsides, grassland, sandy locations; plains and foothills
Leaves: Finely divided into short, thin lobes, often reddish at the tips
Season: April to August
