The crow is a highly social and intelligent bird. I enjoy watching them. In the early morning one or two show up to check for food or water. They sit on the fence and call for their flock members. They congregate and eat or fly off together. It seems like a meetup to exchange information. "Peanuts at the Smith house. Trash spilled at Third and Main" Who knows for sure. They provide fodder for the imagination. This is one of the early arrivals to my yard this morning.
The American crow is a large passerine bird species of the family Corvidae. It is a common bird found throughout much of North America. American crows are the new world counterpart to the carrion crow and the hooded crow. Wikipedia
