There is a giant hay net over this round bale of hay. It restricts the amount of hay an animal can get at one time. It takes longer for horses and other grass eaters to finish off the bale and helps to keep them from over eating. This is Quarter horse gelding Chance on winter Solstice morning in Colorado.
