This colorful male house finch has a perch with a view. I think he looks especially lovely against the blue sky while perched on this old and ornate weather vane.

You proved my point again, Alana. That point being that close cropping to see the bird closeup is not always what's best for an image. Shots like this are wonderful because the entire scene creates a reaction and an emotion that would be lost with a crop.
