It was a wonderfully frosty and foggy winter day that I spotted this cottonwood tree wearing frost instead of leaves in Colorado.

I believe they call this hoarfrost. The word "hoar" is ancient, hardly used anymore. But I like it. It means silvery or gray. Beautiful scene, well captured.
