The male house sparrow has just returned. The female has come out of the nest under the eve of this old barn in Colorado. Shortly the male will take over baby duty while the little hen flies off to hunt for her breakfast.
The house sparrow is a bird of the sparrow family Passeridae, found in most parts of the world. A small bird, it has a typical length of 16 cm and a mass of 24–39.5 g. Wikipedia
