They don't use this old cattle chute anymore. It used to be used to load and unload cattle from trucks. The barn and silo are no longer used either. Life has changed in rural America. This Colorado ranch is a disappearing feature of the landscape. McCune Ranch

Beautiful composition and spectacular dynamic range! Our barn was white but this reminds me of the farm I grew up on and the loading chute and corral as it fell into disrepair when all us boys grew up and left home. l/f/t

Love this shot. Brings back bittersweet memorys of when I was a boy... We had a set of pens oand a chute very similar to these on the ranch where I grew up. After leaving the ranch they slowly went into dis-repair and finally literally went into a pile of timbers. I would go back every once in a while and walk amoung the ruins and hear the sounds of my brothers, my father and other famlly members shouting and laughing as we worked the cattle decades before...
