Description
This very cool old threshing machine still works!! It is used to separate the oat seed heads from the stalks. It is a wonderful machine full of gears, wheels, chains and metal. I would love to see it in operation! Here it sits on a spring day on a ranch in Colorado.

Alana, Excellent capture of this old-time thrasher! Originally being from South Dakota, and having relatives who were farmers, I have seen a number of thrashing demonstrations. Traveling through SD one can still spot these retired antiques dotting the prairie. I especially enjoy seeing these machines belted to antique steam tractors, providing the necessary power… PS: Isn't it just amazing how well the galvanized sheet metal has retained its finish for so many Decades!
