Description
This lovely blossom if blue Nigella, also know as Love in a Mist. It is an annual flower used mainly as an ornamental here. I have heard that it does have some medicinal qualities but haven't researched it.
Nigella sativa is an annual flowering plant in the family Ranunculaceae, native to south and southwest Asia. N. sativa grows to 20–30 cm tall, with finely divided, linear leaves. The flowers are delicate, and usually colored pale blue and white, with five to ten petals. Wikipedia
